The Lord Jesus had three truths
to show to the world
that he would show
after he returned to heaven.
The first truth was that
the world was in sin
because it was not trusting
in him and only him for its salvation:
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
(John 16:9 KJV)
So that the world could believe on him
rather than on its own efforts,
Jesus gave the gospel of grace
to the apostle Paul by revelation,
and sent him to preach to the nations.
But afterwards,
the world began to trust
in its own efforts for salvation.
The Lord Jesus then gave
the second truth to the world
by showing that he himself
is the righteousness for salvation
just as he foretold that he would:
Of righteousness,
because I go to my Father,
and ye see me no more;
(John 16:10)
The Lord showed that truth
to one theologian from Scripture
and caused him to stand
despite church and empire,
and the Protestant movement began.
But now the world
except for relatively few
no longer hears that Christ
is the righteousness for salvation
and again trusts in its own efforts.
But at his return for his people,
the Lord Jesus shows the world
the third truth that other than himself
there is no righteousness whatsoever:
Of judgment, because the prince
of this world is judged.
(John 16:11)
Except for those people taken up
because their righteousness is Christ,
the world is without salvation.
Because the world with its religions
and churches, rituals, and efforts
does not attain heaven,
many from the nations finally realize
that those taken were only those
whose righteousness is Christ
by their trust for salvation
being on him alone.
That great multitude from all nations
places all its trust in Christ
during the tribulation
and is ready for his coming to the world.
to show to the world
that he would show
after he returned to heaven.
