"If crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire,
just what then do freedom fighters, fight?"
*George Carlin* 1937 - 2008

..

Seriously, I am sad George Carlin is gone.
Even though his atheist screeds were shrill
to the point of protesting too much,
he was one of the funniest guy around.

I pray for the rest of his soul, but I never found ridicule
particularly funny, and it seemed to comprise the bulk of his sthick.

B -I think he was a great comic...and a trickster. I think what he
said was usually dancing around in the backs of many people's brains
anyway and he just wanted to bring it out and let it play.
Remember..he was a comedien. It wasn't the belief I suspect that he
had a problem with..it was the slavish and literal and "please sir can
I have another" attitude that some folks in conservative religions
had...then again he'd also joke about pagans as well......to me I'd
never take it personally probably because he asked some of the same
things I wanted to know...and knowing where he hid his "ha-ha" I could
handle his jokes that might have poked fun at my beliefs. I think at
times it is good to laugh at oneself.
