Re: Did Jesus die on the Cross?
Hello,

Actually, evidence in the Bible points to Jesus being hung on an
upright wooden pole of some kind, not the pagan cross. For example,
notice this verse at Ac 5:30,

"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a
tree." (KJV)

If you take a small tree and cut off its branches, you can end up with
a long pole. Thus you can see why this verse is worded that way.

More in this subject, and what the Greek word translated as "cross" in
many Bibles really means. If you are interested, just send me an email.

Sincerely, James

No, it does no such thing.

not the pagan cross.
And how is this cross any more _pagan_ than anything else the government did? Or
are you trying to use the association with paganism as a sneaky way of fooling
people into accepting your specious reasoning?

I noticed it. I noticed it does NOT imply what you say. Not at all.

"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a

This is a misleading translation; it doesn't say 'tree'. It says WOOD.

This is completely irrelevant, since it says WOOD, not tree. And there are other
reasons for its irrelevancy, too.

And it is NOT worded that way to support your ridiculous argument.

If you are _interested_ in what the Bible _really_ means, don't bother sending
the email to someone who just gave you a load of trash.

And trash IS what Bireda's post is! Everybody knows Christ was executed by order
of the Sanhedrin, confirmed by the Roman procurator. Everybody knows the
standard method of execution was crucifixion. And everybody knows that
crucifixion is on a _cross_.

Everybody knows all this, except for dogmatic dupes who follow JW nonsense.
