Discussion:
Was Jesus reincarnated with full spiritual memory?

I remember seeing a reference to the "second death".. is it possible
that the "first death" is the death of physical body while the soul/
spirit lives on in spirit or is reincarnated, while the "second death"
is the extinguishment of the spirit itself, what we commonly think of
as true death? Is it possible Jesus simply transferred to another body
in an attempt to show that the spirit does not die, and did this by
stepping into another body with FULL consciousness of the prior
physical body and its existence? Normal reincarnation theory
presupposes that the spirit is reborn but without the active memory of
prior existences, getting a fresh start. If Jesus was pure, why would
he need a fresh start, and therefore no need to occupy another body in
a state of amnesia?

This is a great question and since some Christians dismiss
reincarnation not a common discussion. I'm not sure Jesus came back in
a physical body after he was crucified. More likely he appeared to the
apostles and others in spirit form, though perhaps as real looking as
his physical form.

The idea that Jesus had no previous karma, or was 'pure,' is also
interesting. Was Jesus perfect all his life? Since we only have
records of his last three years that's open to conjecture. Because
someone has no past-life karma doesn't preclude one from 'sinning,' or
doing wrong, in their next life.

I've wondered about the amnesia theory of reincarnation. What's the
purpose of erasing past lives? Wouldn't they make us much more wise
and mature as humans and prevent repeating mistakes?

My thinking is that perhaps because Jesus is pure, he did not have to
suffer amnesia in inhabiting a new body, nor did he have to wait. He
could simply move to another body with full memory of prior existence.

If Jesus had no past-life amnesia then he would've remembered all the
lives he had lived before the life recounted in the Bible. Unless, he
had no past lives and had been entirely in spirit before his biblical
life. All very interesting questions.
