Dear Moderator of Soc. Religion. Christian,
I noticed on your website your statement that you do not believe the
Bible is inerrant, and I am also of that opinion. In fact I would be
very interested in knowing who the first person in history happened to
be that said "The Bible is infallible and inerrant". It is an
undeniable fact that Jesus Christ never made that statement.
It is also a fact that Jesus Christ never spoke about a New Testament
Bible that would some day be published, but which was obviously
unavailable to the first Christians. Jesus also never mentioned the
name of a man named Paul during His earthly ministry. He also never
made the statement "Blessed are those who go to church".
On the other hand, I firmly believe that God Almighty is 100% infallible
and inerrant, but not the Bible.
Another interesting observation is the fact that Abraham (father of the
faithful) never had a Bible, never kept the Sabbath, and never went to
church on Sunday. But then neither did Isaac or Jacob or Noah, and we
know they will all be in the Kingdom of God.
Have Christians placed an undue emphasis on the "Bible", when their real
focus should be Jesus Christ and His teachings?
