There is a new book out published by Regina Orthodox Press, Inc. which
covers 'The Bibles Answer To Protestant Departure from Orthodox
Belief'. I have given a copy to a very close relative who is studying
for the Lutheran priesthood. His comments are that the book paints
Protestantism with too wide a brush. My reply is that because of the
multitude of Protestant denominations it has to be addressed that way.

Has anyone read the book. If so, would appreciate any comments.
Especially by Protestants or former Protestants.

Your reply ovestates the case somewhat. After all, with the multitude of
denomination you mention, it is only to be _expected_ that the reply you give to
one group will be quite unconvincing to another. Consider, for example, trying
to teach St. Gregory of Palamas's treaching concerning uncreated grace to both
Arminians and Calvinists; their objections will be _completely_ different. So
claiming that it "_has_ to be addressed that way" is admitting that the task is
impossible to start with.

I haven't read this particular book. I have read other books by Regina Orthodox
Press. I found them persuasive on first read, but their scholarship was actually
less than watertight, so that when compared with more scholarly books/articles
on the very same topics, suddenly they weren't so convincing anymore.
