My question for those who are literalists. Do you consider yourself a
fundamentalist as well? Or perhaps fundy's consider themselves
literalist as well? Because I think literalist and fundamentalist are
equally crazy and not inteligent nor christian.

You need to expand upon which particular definition of "literalist" and
"fundmentalist" you mean. There are several different definitions of
each word. I might consider myself either a literalist or a
fundamentalist, depending upon if they are non-straw man versions.

Also, just how likely is it that we would respond kindly to a post that
calls us "crazy" and "not intelligent" and "not christian?"

In sum, please carefully define what you mean by each term, and go easy
on the gratuitous insults.

Would anyone want to live in buildings designed by engineers who
ignored the fundamentals of engineering?
Do baseball couches exhort their players to ignore the fundamentals and
stick to the "higher" aspects of the game?

The fundamentals of a religion are the base things that a religion is
founded upon. People that ignore the fundamentals of any branch of
study would be looked upon as the nuts, and not the ones that practice
the fundamentals. Yet in religion, it is the opposite.

Here's some food for thought: if you don't like the fundamentals of
the discipline [whatever it is], then maybe the discipline is not for
you.
If you don't want to learn and apply the fundamentals of engineering,
then don't try and be an engineer. No one else would want you to be
one either. If you don't agree with the fundamentals of Christianity,
then you aren't a Christian. You are a pretender. Just like someone
who doesn't understand any physics or math isn't really an
engineer.

1) What is your definition of a "literalist?" Do you know what the
Protestant hermeneutic is actually?
2) Do you know what fundamentalism is? I doubt it. Do you know its
primary points of contention?

1) the inerrancy of the Scriptures,
2) the deity of Christ,
3) His virgin birth,
4) His substitutionary atonement,
5) His physical resurrection and future bodily return.

May I ask which of these you take odds with?

B - Perhaps what they are saying...is WHO said which or what thing was a
fundament to the religion? Why should their interp be believed? If you
were fundamental about beliefs that you interpreted....and your interp was
wrong (not saying you are...but just giving you a concept to grasp) then
why would it be good to stick by them?

If the foundation of a rotten house...is strong....well great...but you
still have a rotten house no?

Blessings
