Since when Jesus was on earth,
there have been many different paths
that people have taken thru the centuries:
Differences in interpretation, doctrine,
church, denomination, teaching on salvation.
But shortly before Jesus returned to heaven,
he gave the path of truth till his coming again
so that his people and the world could know
what he was going to show (John 16:7-16).
He said his people were not then ready
for all the truth that he had to show them,
but that he would show that truth from heaven
for them to show to the world.
The first truth was regarding sin,
and was given by Jesus by revelation
as the gospel of grace to the apostle Paul
for him to preach to the nations
so that by grace thru faith in Christ
the people would have eternal life.
People were to repent but not to trust
in their efforts to repent to save them,
but rather trust in Christ alone.
But as centuries passed that truth was hid
as people trusted partly in Christ and partly
in their efforts to repent and church and ritual.
The second truth was regarding righteousness
and was given by Jesus to one theologian
so that people could understand Scripture
to know the basis for salvation
that Christ is our entire righteousness
so that trust would again be on Christ alone.
Having that truth,
people began to transfer their trust away from
their efforts to repent and church and onto Christ,
and the Protestant movement began.
But today relatively few people hear that truth.
People still profess to trust in Christ alone,
but without knowing the basis for salvation
that Christ is our entire righteousness
so many again divide trust between Christ
and their efforts to repent and church.
The third truth is regarding judgment
and will be shown by Jesus at his coming
when he takes those whose righteousness is him
and does not take anyone else regardless
of church, ordinances, resolve, efforts, etc.
Jesus showed the world the way of salvation,
and afterwards showed the basis of salvation
so that people would return to trust in him,
and then at his coming he shows the need
of the world to have his righteousness
that comes only by trusting in him alone.
Jesus gives those truths not only
for the salvation of people before his coming
but also to prepare the vast global harvest
that is to come during the tribulation
when multitudes from all nations will trust
in Christ alone and look for him
to come and deliver them.
