Why is it that the majority of God's workers were married in the old
testament, but many religions since frown on marriage? Is it because Jesus
didn't marry? But there are many things that Jesus did that no minister has
been able to remotely mimic. Have you turned water to wine? Have you raised
the dead? Have you fed a multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread?
Or perhaps even easier, have you preached God to anyone? Jesus preached
God, numerous angels have mentioned God, yet God is the focus in churches
less and less. That is akin to talking about the son of a corporate
executive that happens to be a Vice-president, instead of the CEO that is in
charge of the business. There is a reason Jesus did not marry, what is
yours?
There are only three acceptable reason not to marry too. Those that are
born unable to do. Please note, you will notice that this doesn't mean fear
doing. They can't give birth nor can assist in creating. Then there are
those that are made unable to do by men. This doesn't include when men trick
you into not doing. This does not include those that are just wasting their
life-giving issue. If able, ignoring certain people and their greed for
size (just because larger might fit, doesn't mean that they need it), then
there is no reason not to do. Just as the use of stretching prophylactics
aren't a valid basis. And then there is for the kingdom of heaven's sake.
Not for religion. Not to bypass child-bearing years. And definitely not
because a group wants you to. It is an individual agreement. The reason is
unique. It is for a lifetime from the moment the agreement is reached.
We can all agree not to sin, but is this for the kingdom of heaven's sake?
What Jesus did was for heaven's sake. Could you image the corruption if he
sired children, or even married? Could you imagine who you would be praying
to now? You already pray to his mother. How many people did God use and we
pray to?
Jesus didn't sneak to do, although he did try to avoid those that meant to
do him harm. He didn't abuse the trust given to him by others. He didn't
promote organized religion, but he knew that churches are vital in the
introduction of God to people. He said on a rock the church is built - not
on the stones that have led to larger and larger churches and the increase
in begging for money from pulpits. There is a saying, don't blame the
messenger for the message, but that saying should be altered here to say,
don't preach about the messenger and forget the message.
The Bible says yield not to temptation, but there is no time that we are
allowed to test God. So why do we sit around horny? Aren't we testing God
when we entertain dangerous situations? We have vilified the use of alcohol
and cigarettes, even pornography, and we keep them away from us. In one way
we do not yield to temptation. But the opposite has to be protected too.
There are certain things that are good to have around us. We eat food, and
drink, and some promote friendships more than they do having relationships.
Yet we have begun to insist that "sexual release" is healthy to long life.
Why do we not see the danger in pent up horniness, like we see the danger in
pent up anger? We also need peace, because it is when we are at peace that
God can speak to us, help us to understand, and it is then that we can pray.
We cannot pray when we are angry. We cannot smile when we are angry either.
I am amazed at the insistence that we do not know anyone else until we know
them when they are mad, yet the purpose of "marriage" is to help each other
and to promote peace. Is this another trick of the enemy? Change the
normal to be dominated by the ridiculous.
Sadly, there are those that don't get to meet. There are those that are
frowned upon. There are those that don't meet our criteria. And some
criteria are important if only because of some future situation we will
endure. But not all wants are criteria. Not all wants are needs. And the
biggest problems in this area of our well-being is the fact that it is
belittled. We have pills to assist with everything nowadays. Of course,
marrying based on our criteria and not manmade things would alter the need
for this. Still, all of this relies on our going after, or even accepting,
the person that is proper for us. But in order to reach this step, we would
have to drop the "I'm not ready to have children, or can't afford it"
arguments. We would also have to drop the I don't want to be poor, which is
in actuality the "I want to be rich, or well off, now" argument. There used
to be honor in the words "grow old together." Not anymore.
