How does eternal life start?
Is it any wonder that most of the world
has not found the way of salvation
seeing that the world
does not know the starting point?
The vast religions of the world,
with their billions of people,
and all their wealth
and programs and churches,
and they do not know the way to life.
The Protestants had it right originally,
and there are those who still do.
But for many the starting point
is too simple for them,
too easy to believe.
Why cannot people just believe
that Christ the Son of God
became our Righteous Substitute
on the cross to give us eternal life?
But do not many profess to believe that?
This is not just to profess it, but believe it.
A substitute takes your place.
It is him, not you.
It is him, not part you and part him.
Christ is your righteousness for salvation,
the whole, the entirety, the sum.
Those who are fully persuaded of that
will transfer their trust from all else,
from their self, their resolve, their effort,
their surrender, their church, etc.,
and place all their trust on Christ.
The moment that anyone really believes
that Christ is their righteousness for salvation,
they receive Christ and have eternal life.
Those who do not fully believe
that Christ is our Righteous Substitute
will keep trying to help Christ save them
rather than just trusting Christ to save them.
But salvation is by grace alone thru faith alone
in Christ alone.

This is the kind of sermonizing that happens when posts on
homosexuality are blocked. ;)

Being a Christian, I understand the poster's sentiments. However, it's
the same misguided 'we're right and you're wrong' ideology that some
Christians maintain: that there's is the only 'true' religion and all
others are false. In essence it's saying that only Christians pray to
and receive help from God. Who are Muslins praying to when they pray
to Allah? Is God not listening to them? Does God turn away from
everyone except Christians?

I think not.
