Infidelis Maximus

I've been starting numerous threads lately across the various religious
newsgroups to bait Xians into debates about their beliefs in order to get
them to waste a lot of time trying to argue with me (for every one post I
make, there are invariably 3+ idiots who feel the need to respond), to give
me an outlet in which I can smack around the deluded, and to drive up
traffic to my blog (http://infidelismaximus.blogspot.com). It has exceeded
my wildest expectations. My blog traffic is up 300% and now reaches into
countries in which it was previously unknown. And I've certainly enjoyed
the heck out of smacking people around who have no concept of logic or
reason and who don't even know why they believe what they do. It doesn't
get much better than that.
FYI, I've also excerpted several of these conversations and published them
on my blog, so my time was well spent in terms of creating new content, too.
For example, I started one here asking whether all Xians are inveterate
hypocrites and got tons of material that I have now cheerfully published on
my blog (still waiting on your answer, BTW, Matthew). Some tried to argue
with the coherence of my Hypocrisy Challenge
(http://infidelismaximus.blogspot.com/2007/04/christian-hypocrisy-challenge.html);
others tried to equate being sinful with being a hypocrite (for the
ignorant: being a hypocrite is claiming to adhere to beliefs that you do
not-the merely sinful are not necessarily hypocrites unless they make false
claims about their beliefs); others tried to equate human fallibility with
intentionally living in contradiction to Christ's teachings while still
calling oneself a Christian (this is another fallacy--occasionally goofing
up is not the same thing as generally hating your enemies when Christ tells
you to love them, for example).
The best part has been how easy it's been to incite Xians into showing their
stupidity and ignorance. It was even simpler than I thought! Throw out a
minor insult like "You moron" or "What language are you speaking?" and
you'll get a paragraph or two, along with three or four scripture citations.
You can't buy that kind of entertainment!
All the feedback has turned out to be immensely interesting and amusing.
It's been funnier and more worthwhile than I could ever have imagined.
So, thanks for all your hard work in amusing me and the people who read my
blog. And feel free to come play with me and my lions in the Coliseum
anytime you want.
