I have recently read the three humanist manifestos.I cannot believe
these are taken so lightly.I was shocked to learn John Dewey was a
signer of the first humanist manifesto. Why does this matter?Because
John Dewey was also a major reformer of the public school system. He was
probably one the biggest opprotunist to have hit American society,as a
whole, because John Dewey had direct affect on generations of public
school childrens minds. If you desire to mold and shape a society, one of
the best ways would be to go through the schools and train people a bit
at a time from childhood on up.That way people will just function in
those teachings a,good portion of the time, never even knowing what hit
them.He was also a psycologist and who better to know how to do such
things in a way that seems harmless, than someone trained in the area of
science that specialises in the workings of the human psyce. The 3
humanist manifestos, combined, openly describe how only darwinist
evolution is accepted and a true belief in God must be viewed as an
archaic superstition, and mostly for the weak minded. The second humanist
manifesto describes a one world government with an international
court.Humanism has convieniently morphed into all sorts of diffrent
psycologies and philosophies making it hard to peg legally. There are
many humanist "cousins" being used in the school systems
today, especially in the colleges.Presto....a humanist leaning secular
society, that percieves the very word of God as something to approve of
only if their mere opinions desire to do so,because humanism enthrones
the mind of godless men above Gods instruction.... is birthed. The
scriptures will be fufilled.

B - I believe that preachers in the classroom make as much sense as a
scientist in the pulpit. Then again..the leader of the American Episcopal
Church (a woman!) is both a scientist and person of the cloth!

:)

I accept both the Creation and Darwinian stories in part...that God
created Evolution. It can work if you think outside that very small box.

Unlikely.

The American Episcopal Church united with some from the Anglican Catholic
Church to form the Anglican Church in America in the 1990s/

[The body referred to seems to call itself simply "The Episcopal
Church." According to its constitution it can be called either the
Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America, or "The
Episcopal Church." However the web page seems to use the latter
exclusively.

It seems likely the the OP added "American" as a qualifier, not part
of the name, to make sure readers knew what church was involved, as
there are Episcopal churches in a number of countries.

The Wikipedia page you point to implies that the name "American
Episocopal Church" is no longer used by the organization you are
referring to, because it was part of a merger, resulting in a church
called the Anglican Church in America, not to be confused with the
Anglican Church of America.

The newest presiding bishop of The Episcopal Church, Katherine
Jefferts Schori, has a Ph.D. in oceanography.
