Re: Is this true?

'Though divine in origin, the [Christian] Church is made up of humans, of
sinners, and so *in an act unique for any institution* (my emphasis), at
the
end of the second millennium the Pope publicly apologized and did
penance in
the name of the Church for the sins of individual Christians throughout the
ages.'
True?
yes John Paul II repeatedly apologized fro the Inquisition, for the
behavior against the Jews, for the treatment of the women and other
things which annoy the liberals.
He always added that here is the time to apologize for others too, but
this part did not hit the media.
Hello,

Yes, apologies are good in that they can admit wrongdoing. And no
religious institution has 100% of its members never do anything
wrong.

But keep in mind that even though individuals were involved in the
inquisition etc, the CATHOLIC CHURCH was the authority causing it to
happen in the first place. Thus as a religious institution, was it
really a CHRISTIAN one? Let's see.

Jesus wants his true followers to obey his commands, not just
acknowledge he existed etc. Using the Catholic Bible, Lu 6:46,

"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I command?" (NAB)

And one of Jesus commands to his true followers was Mt 19:19,

"...you shall love your neighbor as yourself." (NAB)

And if your neighbor doesn't like you, Jesus said at Mt 5:44,

"But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute
you," (NAB)

Thus the alleged leader of Christianity back then, willfully
disregarded Jesus' commands, and killed its neighbors as well as its
enemies. That made it a false religion, not the true "one faith"
religion. (Eph 4:5)

The true religion the Bible speaks about, worships God in truth, not
in falsehood. And God is looking for such type ones, not those who
disregard the Bible's commands. Joh 4:23,24,

"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will
worship the Father in Spirit and truth; and indeed the Father seeks
such people to worship him.
4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit
and truth." (NAB)

Sincerely, James

So when is _your_ "religious institution" every going to apologize for
misleading thousands into denying themselves medical treatment and therefore
dying of perfectly curable diseases?

I am referring, of course, the the practice "Jehovah's Witnesses" kept up for
decades, the practice of denying members blood transfusions. Many people died
unnecessarily because of this.
