"The Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many"
Mark 10:45.

Can a good, honest, sane man say this?
Can God say this?

B - Even today...martyrdom is a big deal in the Middle East...as it was
back then. Sure....why couldn't he have said this? However I don't
personally believe that God killed God to whitewash the rest of us...that
would make God in "need" and I don't believe God is ever in "need".

Just my opinion,

Then you deny the central claim of Christianity. God did kill God (in a
manner of speaking), and the martyrs died to prove it. For you to deny
it so blatantly, is to make it clear that you have NOT put your faith
in the finished work of God, and are headed to hell until you repent.

For you to claim to be a "Christian" but then deny its central gospel,
is nothing short of a travesty.

You deny the finished work of God. Thus, you are still dead in your
trespasses. Lucky for you, I believe that God will eventually help you
to see the light. However, how long will you have to remain in hell,
before your stubborn psychological need to be an original independent
thinker is quenched? A question to ponder.

Theological novelty is almost never a good thing.

Bren - are you talking about the Christianity that some followers of Jesus
started? or the one that Jesus himself started?

B - first sentence...no. I believe that God helps me to see the light
constantly....perhaps you will see Gods light too someday.

Original? independant thinker? gee thanks hon.
I'm thinking of that Japanese quote about the "nail that sticks up gets
hammered down"..... heh...not if they're using a paper hammer it don't...

Really? and yet Jesus was a novelty in his day supposedly.

Why not go his path?

Blessings of love to you,

I'd like some proof on this please.
Not proof that you believe this, but a logic argument type of proof on
how you would get from your first point to "that would make God in
need".
All I'm asking for is for you to lay this out in an argument form.

Thanks,

B - I gave an opinion and opinions that are subjective don't need
proof..however objective statements for all do I reckon. I don't need to
argue. My objections are never what about what people believe ...but when
they state it as objective fact for everyone.
..

You're welcome.
