Many Protestants still agree
that salvation is by grace alone
thru faith alone in Christ alone.
But many of these do not realize
that faith alone means faith alone,
not faith plus repentance, submission,
surrender, commitment, etc.
Does that mean that people
saved by faith alone
do not repent?
Of course not!
It means that people
saved by faith alone
do not trust in their repentance
to save them
because all their trust is on Christ
for their salvation
and that is why they are saved.
So why are so many people
trusting in more than Christ for salvation?
It is because the doctrine that began
the Protestant movement
is hardly taught anymore:
The Lord Jesus showed the world
that the righteousness required
for eternal life is his righteousness
rather than our righteousness:
His must be considered by him to be ours
for anyone to have eternal life.
Anyone who does not have
all their trust on Christ for salvation
needs to find out about
the righteousness of Christ
that is accounted as ours
because of his substitution for us on the cross.
that salvation is by grace alone
thru faith alone in Christ alone.
