Re: I have a question

Hello,If every Christian in the world was just like you, what kind of world
would this be?
Probably not too good. I have a lot of things to overcome and daily
fight off my sinful tendancies.
But if your question was:
'If every Christian in the world was just like the person you want to
be, what kind of world would this be?'
Since the person I eventually want to be is the person who follows all
the Bible, the others who do the same thing would produce a much better
world.
(I am assuming here that ALL those professing to be Christian are now
following the Bible, none are doing something different)
For example, no one could ever blame Christians for supporting the
world's wars, since Jesus said to "love your enemies". (Mt 5:44)
Also, acts of violence by professed 'Christians' such as bombing
abortion clinics or raciel hatred from such professed 'Christian'
believers such as the KKK, would also fade away since Jesus said to
"'love your neighbor as yourself." (Mt 19:19)
Also, athesists would no longer have 'fuel' to promote the Christian
God of being a sadistic torturer, since the Bible's symbolism shows
things such as the "lake of fire" in Revelation to not be a literal
fire. (for instance, notice that "death" is tossed into that alleged
literal fire. Can death be literally burned?--Re 20:14) Thus all such
false doctrines would be done away with.
Yes all acts of angry violence by professed Christians would stop,
since Jesus said "whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye
even so to them." (Mt 7:12)
Of course that wouldn't stop atheisits or any one else from doing all
of the above. So to make your scenerio even better, what if ALL humans
on earth followed all the Bible? Then you would reach the condition of
no more wars at all, no more violence towards other humans, no more
racial hatreds etc, etc. As you can see the world would be a marvelous
place.
And of course when God steps in and removes disease and even death
itself, well, it won't get any better than that. (see Re 21:3,4)
Yes, God knows what is best for us. And not doing what He commands is
what gets us into problems of one kind and another. As a prophet of old
once wrote at Jer 10:23,
"I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to
direct his steps." (NIV)
Sincerely, James
