I have a couple of questions that I hope you will think about. If Jesus =
said to eat and drink in remembrance of me, why do Christians praise his =
birth? Jesus never said to sing praises to him or his parents. And he =
surely did not say to do so while ignoring God.
A second question is who are the nicolaitanes? If the nicolaitanes are =
those that praise Jesus, his mother or anyone else besides God, why do =
what God hates? Of course, the most obvious reason for God's hatred of =
"the season" is that it is just a season, something that is used to =
offset the gluttony and actions done throughout the year. God expects =
charity all year round.
A further question is who else could the nicolaitanes be? We know that =
the nicolaitanes do not worship idols, or even the devil, because they =
are not included in those groups that are charged with worshipping idols =
or doing evil in Revelations (even though they are under the same =
penumbra of a church in some instances). To this end, how many sermons =
mention God, and if so beyond just in passing, when the Christmas, or =
even Easter, season and sermon are preached? Note this too: His =
parents were not told to praise him even if the angels were told to =
praise him, and they probably meant God as does John in the first =
Chapter in verses 3-5.
Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the holiday. The non-secular =
reason for having this holiday would not be objected to by God. God is =
someone that appreciates the little steps taken to ease the suffering of =
others, and he would not object to the spreading of joy even when he =
desires even more.
